The bell had woken Jay up from her daydream. She shook her head, trying to get the stars and dots in her eyes to fade. Jay closed the book on her desk, picking it up with the rest of her books and folders. She tucked them under her elbow and swung her brown purse over her shoulder.

She made her way through the halls of the high school, occasionally stopping by for a quick chat with the friends that she missed. She smiled warmly at the new faces, lightly biting her lip. In school, she definitely wasn't on the bottom of the popularity chart. She had many friends, no doubt. But if you asked her, she wouldn't call herself "popular."

She almost forgot about A until she saw a group of girls, looking as if they were gossiping with their pretty pink cell phones. Jay raised an eyebrow at them, walking quickly to her next class.
