Shae Anne Ramine

Things would often never go as one planned, life wasn't something that could go as planned. There would always be hurtles and upsets, and sometimes one's life plan would change entirely, many people - didn't have the luxury of being able to do said things in the first place. Sometimes, life takes a turn of its own, decides fate wants to kick you in the ass and just isn't on your side. Some higher being decides to skip over you and look over more important people. But there are those brief moments, those little miracles that happen within some people's lives that can make everything all better, no matter what had happened, no matter what will happen. It's like everything that was once bad then goes away, and in that moment, one feels lucky. One feels, eternally in debt, and one feels that thing, that some people call happiness.

Shae's entire life had been something that she crammed down inside her, something she shoved to the side so no one would ever hear about or no about and bring up again. As a child, she had discovered the harsh reality of a poker face, of a fake person, of a rotten society. Of people that turned a blind eye to reality, or are in fact to naive or even selfish to realize it. She was raised in a family of notorious mages, surrounded by nothing but riches. Her mother and father were the type of people that felt the need to look good for others, as they were many times in the spotlight. Their name was so important to them, but they had a daughter, and that daughter had to live up to expectations. But she didn't. Shae grew up a powerless mage, even at the age of eight she showed no signs of magic or future magical progression. And her parents didn't accept it, they wouldn't accept a lesser daughter. While her parents looked like loving parents from the outside, they were monsters, behind closed doors.

She remembered how they were beat her till she was black and blue, she remembered how they would toss her a sword or a knife to go hunt and kill things, putting her in the line of fire in hopes that some kind of magic would emerge when she tried to protect herself, but it never did, never did until that day. That fateful day, when everything changed. She was nine, and it was so vivid, when she came back barely alive - only to be beaten once more. Not good enough, never good enough, - but it was enough. The rest was a blur however, a blur until she ran out of the house with dead bodies behind her, until she ran and ran and never went back. She went missing from society for a long time, part of those times were all black to her, eventually, years later she came back to town and noticed signs all over, she was still wanted. In the middle of trying to run away, she ran straight into Loritiva - the best thing that could have happened, in her opinion. Till this day she never knew if she was considered a monster, in all reality, there was a part of
her that was. The amount of people that had seen that side of Shae must have been little though, unless she wasn't aware of it. She hoped no one was aware.

Shae listened to Loritiva give a speech - sort of. It was extremely hard to hear him over all the talk of the other members. The place was always loud, and while she was used to it by now, it was a tad bothersome that she couldn't hear and important speech. She caught bits and pieces of it though, she smiled at times, she had such good memories of Draco Edge, the only good memories within her entire life. When she heard however, Loritiva speaking about Sandra so fondly, she died a little inside. She looked down at the table she was sitting at, Sandra was always the best S mage. She herself was never really mentioned. Sandra was spoken of, even the lower ranked mages, like Sotofu, whom she'd grown fond of and drag around at times. She had worked so hard to get to the rank she was, but sometimes she thought she might as well not be there at all, leave the spot for a better, more powerful mage. Her expression was so gloomy, there might as well have been a cloud and rain over her. When she realized how she was acting however, she perked up and faked some smiles.

Perhaps it stemmed from her parents always wanting her to be perfect, be better, but she always wanted to better herself. She looked up to Sandra even though she never spoke to her, but now she needed to be stronger. She always thought her magic to be so common, give or take one magical ability. Shae kicked her feet back and forth a bit under the table, her feet were bare - as they were many times inside the guild, she wore a white dress which had a red scarf around it. Very basic but she thought it pretty, she had made them herself as well. Not feeling particularly hungry anymore, she took a bite of food and then left the table, walking outside for a moment. She made sure to steer clear of Akio as she did so. He was so flirtatious with women, it was too much, she always believed one person should only have eyes for one person. But Akio, had eyes for...anything with breasts. As she walked outside she breathed in the fresh air, feeling slightly relieved.

There was to be an event called Mission Impossible the next day, she knew nothing about it, other than the title and it's general information - it was a surprise, and in its own right that was always exciting. Shae sat against the wall of the guild and started singing to herself, her beautiful angelic voice echoed through the air. The guild had so many different types of people, different types of magic. There was also a new person, whom she would be sure to welcome personally later on, when they would be able to hear her. Shae was itching to go on a mission, but she had been taking on so many S class missions lately, and she needed to go on some with her teammate. She was paired with a girl with an interesting ability, or so thought, she was so pure of heart - it was very enlightening. Sometimes she felt however, their little team of two was so lonely, they did work well together however.

After the event the next day, she wanted to make sure to do a mission, and train. Not one or the other, it was not acceptable. Shae made sure to do training off where no one could see her, often where no one could find her - give or take maybe two people. She had been determined not to limit herself with just magic, but had become a skilled sword fighter and fencer, as well as archer. Archery had made its way into her magic as well. While she had the accuracy for marksmanship, it wasn't needed often. Or she felt it wasn't neccessary. Shae closed her eyes and continued her song, she hoped one day, she wouldn't live in Sandras shadow. It made her wonder who was her next competition. She had the habit of almost looking at Loritiva as a father, the way a child looks at their parents for recognition. She then decided this was a personal challenge. She opened her eyes and grinned wildly.

She was almost offended when Loritiva said Sandra looked over everyone without mentioning her. She didn't really give a flying fuck what the others thought of her after that was said however. She also did her best to look after the members, she was overbearingly protective at times, it had gotten to moments where she would threaten people who seemed even the smallest threat to everyone. She looked at people sometimes like they couldn't defend themselves, this wasn't on purpose, but she was just protective that way. She had been the shoulder to cry on and that person to talk to and even that personal bank. She thought maybe because her parents never cared for her, she had the need to care for others and then some. It was enough for her that everyone was happy, content, and safe.

Shae stomach then screamed in protest. She laughed to herself. "Hush you! You get enough food." She said - to herself. Shae while probably deemed a sweet or nice person, was also known in the guild to be a 'a stubborn little fuck.' As maybe one person would call her. Actually, she was just called stubborn most of the time, she was really small though so the other bit made sense. She was five one, slim and slender. Just small, she'd been told how fragile she looked and it always made her smile inside, it was ever so fun to prove people wrong. She did get in trouble a lot for dishobeying rules, rebelling, being alltogether unable to be controlled. And it was true, her personality could be interesting sometimes. Truly it could, if one knew her they would know she had a split personality - it was actually even more complicated than that, that was how she got her alias - definitely not one she chose herself. It did amuse her however.
