She smiled contentedly as her friends comforted her, feeling slightly better than she had before. They were great, the people who lived here. Despite what everyone else on the block might think. They might have been hooligans, drugs dealers, and prostitutes, but at the end of the day they were all good people. Just trying to find a way to survive in this fucked up world, a world that chewed people up and spit them out without mercy, without care.

Jessa understood what they were saying, that she should tell Zack. She didn't have to go through this alone, they were both equally at fault for what had conspired...but part of her, the part that had always been alone - wanted to remain independent. She wanted to deal with it herself, live with what fate had dealt her, and go on about her daily life. It was the way things had always been for her. Since before she ever found refuge at the Firehouse.

She watched a clearly very drunk Skyler stood up. Oh goodness, this was going to be interesting. She could feel it. At least it would be a good distraction...right? Whatever it was, Jessa was clearly happy that the attention had turned off of her and onto him.

"Alright, Sky. Talk about your problems. It's your turn to speak in our Life Sucks Anonymous club." She smiled, lighting up yet another cigarette. What did cigarettes do to babies? She wasn't entirely sure.

"Are you okay, dude? You're kinda drunk...Are you sure you want to spill your guts?"

Jessa raised an eyebrow at him, wondering if this was just going to be some wild made up story about angry midgets in clown outfits or something. She glanced over at Aspen, wondering how she was taking all this.

"I just told you all my secrets. I'm sure I can keep a few of yours." She shrugged, taking a drag.

She heard the door open, and watched as Zack left the house. Obviously, she wouldn't be telling him anything anytime soon. She nibbled at the bottom of her lip, fiddling with the guitar pick that she had hung around her neck as a necklace.
