"Neither of them?" Emma said with a laugh, giving him a playful nudge. She hadn't meant to do it, it just kind of happened. In that moment though, it felt like old times. It felt like he was making a joke about how lame she was or something. This wasn't old times though. This was about as far from that as anyone could possibly get. "I'm sorry." she said quietly, looking straight ahead again.

What had he asked again? Something about her friends. She desperately wanted to change the subject away from the past 30 seconds. "Most of them were supportive. They googled things for me to help figure everything out and they even threw me a baby shower. I guess we kind of just lost touch a little bit after Colby was born because I couldn't go out as much. I had to work and they didn't. I had a baby to take care of, they didn't." Her friends and tried to stick around, but things had just been so crazy in the beginning. Emma wasn't ready to have a baby, and her friends didn't know how to help her. After a while, she just kind of drove them away. More people in her life she drove away.

"You're not screwed up you know." She said softly. He'd had his fare share of problems, but who hadn't? I'm his problem. "Are you happy?" Emma asked earnestly. She hoped he was. Someone should be.
