Jessa didn't say anything when he ran off and she didn't follow after him. She knew all about running away from problems and right now? Right now she wished she could too. There was a part of her, though it was a small part, that wished he would have stayed and held her through this. That he would tell her everything would be alright. But who was she for him to tell those things to? No one. She was just an.. incubator for a kid he didn't need or want. She watched as he boarded the bus and stayed there long after it had left, feeling absolutely numb.

Eventually she found herself walking, she didn't know how far she had gone or where. She just kept walking. She watched the town pass before her eyes, houses, businesses, more houses, more businesses. And then she saw it, her last name written on the front of a ritzy looking building; The Van Zandt Hotel. The building had beautiful architecture, decorations of white and gold, a beautiful fountain in the middle of the lobby. How is it that a place with such horrible memories, look like the gateway to heaven? Things are never what they seem, she supposed. She watched the top floor, knowing that her nightmares waited for her, and knowing she would never willingly return to them. It was almost funny, how out of place she looked here, when it was her blood family that owned the damnable thing.

"Could I help you, miss?" The doorman asked, eyeing her curiously.

"I'm fine...just remembering," She replied still staring through the doors.

The man clearly thought she was mad, but left her alone after that. She left shortly after and continued to walk until she found herself back where she began. She pulled out her cellphone (clearly it was one of those cheap "pay as you go" phones), and dialed the number to the clinic. With every ring her heart beat faster and faster.

"City Health Clinic, how may I help you?" An upbeat woman's voice answered.

"Uh..yeah. My name is Jessa Van Zandt. I need to terminate my pregnancy." And that was that. The appointment was set, now it was a matter of if she would show up and who would go with her. Even if Zack was a no show, she'd need someone there in case of a medical emergency. According to the nurse it was the hospital policy.

Tomorrow. 4 pm. She texted Zack. There, now there was an official time and maybe he could calm down...if it really bothered him that much at all. The only problem was the doubts and what if questions forming in her head. Could she really go through with this? Could she squash the little life growing inside her? She found her way back to the Firehouse, feeling more alone than ever.
