Anne immediately looked at Kale and what he was holding. It was a ruby. ' But what would a ruby be doing in a place like this? ' Anne thought. She looked around her, suddenly conscious if there were soldiers around them who might have accidentally dropped it. But there was no one around. She was sure that it was just the two of them and their horses.

" Did you think someone dropped it? Or do you think it has been here for a long time already? " Anne asked Kale, feeling nervous.

All she wanted was a time of relaxation, even just for a while. But it can't be helped. They were running from their kingdoms, and from their destinies. She took a breath and faced Kale again. " I guess we should keep going now " she told him with a slight smile. She walked out of the lake and wrung her wet hair. Her camisole was stuck to her body, and she had to pull the cloth so that it would at least be free from her skin.
