Shizuma had noticed the human's presence, but felt that revealing him would do more harm than good. The boy seemed frightened, and Shizuma almost instantly felt sympathetic toward him. She was a human as well, after all.

She drew the spear from her back, swiftly moving between Riddick and Rolland. She didn't recognize Rolland, having never met him, but did recognize the rose on his left hand. It was purple, meaning that he was the contractor of Hotaru's sister, Tina. This thought made her second guess protecting him, because Tina was an enemy that stood in the way of Hotaru becoming the next queen. However, that wasn't the boy's fault.

"Leave the boy alone."She demanded as she held her spear aggressively toward Riddick, her green eyes saying I will not back down.
