Shizuma paid little attention to Riddick at the moment, working quickly to place her logs in a strong and organized pile. She then took a flint stone from the small pack on her hip, and also grabbed a knife from her belt. She stuck the stone on the knife, creating sparks. Usually, humans would have to use leaves or grass to start a fire before the wooden logs would burn properly, but Shizuma was a different story. After a few months of practice, Shizuma had mastered starting a sufficient fire with a single spark. Her ability to use a bit of the Red Rose's powers would explain this skill easily enough. The spark made contact with the wood, and Shizuma made a flicking motion with her wrist, sending the pile of logs into a brilliant blaze. The fire then died down a bit, becoming more domestic.

She cut the meat from her rabbit into smaller pieces before she stuck the meat on a stick and placed it over the fire to cook. The fire also brought a bit more light to the forest, being that there was no sun in this god-forsaken land. She looked up at Riddick as she let her food cook. "You don't have to hide," she said simply, "If you were hungry, you could have said something."
