The two of them did a bit more signing and Pearlie supposed it was about the orange-haired girl. Finally Zenith spoke aloud.

"Would you prefer that I signed to you or spoke?"

Vivian answered with some more hand movements and Zenith simply nodded.

As to Pearlie's response, he said "I see." Although he wasn't really sure if he did, he continued. "And thank you. But you don't need to apologize."

They walked back to the palm tree and Zenith retrieved his other coconut and proceeded to smash it in half he offered it to the girls and Pearlie shrugged in acceptance.
He handed it over and continued eating his half. She delicately picked some of the flesh and tried a bit before deciding she didn't like it. So she handed it over to Vivian. Zenith she noticed seemed to have lost his appetite and was looking rather glumly into the fruit. He sighed and dropped it. "I'm going to check on Naoki." With that, he momentarily left the group in the direction that Vivian pointed out. Pearlie was sort of at a loss. She felt a pang of something that he left but felt something else for the fact that he would care already about this Naoki. So she turned to Vivian and put the thoughts behind her.

"I'm not entirely sure how to communicate effectively with you. I want to get to know you but how do you do that?"

Just then an idea sparked. Her father despite his need for modern things were also fond of old gadgets. He bought at an auction one time an old Morse code machine and being his almost obsessive self proceeded to learn Morse code. Deep down Pearlie always wished he had thought of her when he bought it, to give to her for something to do. So during this time he taught her Morse code with all the tapping. She she thought why couldn't it be applied to Vivian. It wasn't hard to learn and she could teach it to Vivian easy enough. She she voiced her idea,

"Hey Viv, have you ever heard of Morse code..." she waited for a nod or shake, "well I was think because it entails a series of tapping why not use that to communicate. It's really easy to learn."

So she sat down and started explaining and her lesson of Morse Code began. She was quite pleased that she could do something useful.
