Fighting in a world with so much hate, you try to stop but it seems too late--too late to rise above, you rise above your lies and hatred...

Asajj Uzun could only wish she could sing along with the vicious shrieks that filled her ears accompanying Antischism's 'Scream'. Were she to make any such attempt, however, given the sheer intensity and aggression of the vocals, Asajj was well aware she would only end up shredding up her throat even more than it already was, and that wouldn't really do her much good. So she contented herself with mouthing along with the lyrics, which must have made her quite a spectacle to the people in the hallway she was walking across. The six foot three mutie chick, decked out in tattoos, leather and spikes, walking around moving her lips soundlessly. She could veritably feel their eyes following her form as she made her way through the hallway, destined to leave the school behind and return to the dingy little apartment she and she alone called home.

When she actually glanced around and saw what most people were doing, however, her eyes fell upon many cell phones, flipped open to the 'texting position', as Asajj recalled it referred to as, students hammering away rapidly at the keys. That's why I don't have a phone, she frowned--that is, the perpetual smile adorning her face lessened microscopically. Sometimes I wonder whether the person owns the phone, or if the cell phone owns them.... Well, there was that, and also the fact that if she did have a phone Asajj wouldn't have a damn person to communicate with. Not to mention those little miracles (or horrors, depending on your perspective) of modern technology didn't come cheap; to buy one would mean Asajj, being someone who couldn't even talk, would be spending inordinate amounts of precious money on what was, all things said and done, a device for talking.

As Asajj walked by another row of lockers, she noticed, in the gap between two rows, a sticker--her brow furrowed. One of the 'murderer' stickers from earlier in the month--this one must have been missed by the janitors who were tasked with removing them all. Asajj reached out, strong, tattooed fingers tearing the word from the wall and crumpling it up. And then the ball of paper sailed beautifully through the air in an excellently placed arc, landing squarely into the trash can. Asajj's smile widened satisfiedly.

'Murderer'...that had been a most unusual episode, a strange day when everyone arrived at school to find that word plastered just about every damn where across the school. Asajj for her part had nearly had a heart attack upon opening the two front doors and being faced immediately with that one chilling word. Murderer. It struck home quite quickly, and Asajj had nearly panicked before she realised that there was no possible way anyone here could possibly have known of that...of that much, she was certain...

The authorities did not know exactly who'd done it, but the word was already out amongst the students. Or rather, the letter--'A'. Someone--Asajj had heard them presumed to be a girl--who went about texting people threatening to reveal their secrets if they did not do as she demanded (side note, Asajj could now mark that off as another good reason not to own a cell phone...those things were way too damn easy to track and whatnot). It seemed like some innocent, if not mean-spirited, bit of fun for someone who was undoubtedly one of those gossip-obsessed cheerleader types, or so Asajj imagined. But A had gone much too far this month. Arson, vandalism, and unless the constant rumours going around the school were exaggerated, attempted murder in the form of drowning. And A kept right on sending out her challenges without a care. Malice for the sake of malice, malice as a result of a purely malicious basic nature--Asajj had encountered this many times when she had been weaker, naive and hopeful. She could only be glad that she was not involved in the insanity.

The silent Turkish woman walked onwards, passing by a group of girls, one of whom was swooning over someone named 'Christopher' so loudly it was clearly to be heard even over Asajj's music. She smiled in a friendly manner at the chatting girls even though she knew the result of that never really changed, and walked onwards until she was at last pushing open the double doors that led out to the front field of the school. Most people were gone, and those who weren't were obviously not hanging out at the forefront of the school, with the exception of one girl, eyes glued to her phone, who seemed to find something quite humourous in the screen. Her back was turned to Asajj, and so the mute girl obviously did not direct a smile towards her. She merely continued down the steps, destined perhaps to venture straight home...on the other hand, Asajj had no real desire to return home and loaf around completely alone. That was never any fun, not even with her music, and she'd already finished her latest book. Might as well head for the library and grab another. Entirely on her own, of course. But at least there would be other people at the library that acted both as a school book supply and local library. Even if she had never and could never speak to a single one of them...it was better than being completely alone.

Her mind having been thus changed, Asajj paused, and then turned to walk right back up the steps, well aware that people would probably think of her only all the more oddly for it.
