Oh boy. What a day, what a day. What a very important day, indeed. Setz halted near the gates of the marvelous palace. He looked up at the sickeningly bright blue sky. Dear God, it was much too light outside for his liking. Luckily for him, his dark bangs shielded his narrowed, blackish eyes from the glare of the ever-shining sun. How distasteful. He gave a disdainfull sniff and lowered his gaze to the guards standing before the ornate gate. They looked serious, but no doubt they'd already let at least a few Guardians in before him. Now then: the task of entering the palace without too much trouble.
Back straight and head held tilted slightly upward, Setz confidently approached the gates. At once, one of them puffed out his chest and demanded, "Who goes there? What business have you at the castle?" Setz leered at the pair and shoved his hands in his pockets.
"I am the Guardian with the power of shadow, and I've been summned here by his highness," he answered cooly, running his thumb over the folded up parchment in his pocket.
"Aye?" one of them sneered. "Let's see your letter, then." The stout man stuck out his hand. Obligingly, Setz pulled the summons out of his pocket, unfolded it, and handed it to the man. The guard looked from the paper to Setz multiple times. When it was returned to him, the man still looked unsure. Growing irritated, Setz's eyes flashed red. His shadow rose from the ground and formed a humanoid figure, which hovered just behind his shoulders. Two pairs of leering red eyes locked on the guard, who trembled. The other guard hastily had the gate opened. Satisfied, a ghost of a smile passed over Setz's face. His eyes returned to normal, and his shadow sunk back into the ground. As he walked past, he noticed the guards eye his shadow warily. A discreet bead of perspiration formed on the crown of Setz's head as he entered the magnificent palace, but the exertion of using his powers at such an early time had been worth the look on their faces. Darkly amused, the Guardian swept his gaze slowly around the luxurious foyer, waiting for events to unfold.
Covering her mouth with her hand to hide a small yawn as she stretched her legs, Pandora gracefully made her way outside into the fresh air of the morning. She shielded her eyes with her hand at the sun's initial glare, but it subsided and she rested her hands at her sides. She caught sight of her husband with Penelope. Her eyelid twitched, as it always did when she saw her sister wife. She'd had time to get over her initial jealousy, however. After all, her husband was a bit of a lecher.
She strode up to them with a smile, planting a greeting kiss on Jelani's cheek and giving a little wave to Penelope. As Pan took her husbands arm, she greeted them. "Good morning! Big day, yes?"
