Aileen Enora Vesta

Aileen watched as amusement spread over Brent's face. This only served to agitate her further. They'd only been on the island for less than five minutes and already he was rebelling.
“You worry too much, sis. Really, everyone’s too far away to notice anything I do right now. Besides, you shouldn’t care about what they think of you. Most of them are beneath us in rank anyway. But I’ll bite this once. Just don’t expect me to keep it up.”
Aila sighed in evident relief, her features relaxing slightly. Sure, it wasn't over, not by a long shot, but at least their reputation wouldn't be ruined in the first minutes. Besides, Brent was partly right, no one else was nearby...yet. Then again, elves, if she remembered correctly from her lessons, had heightened senses...As for not worrying what people think, that was a luxury she couldn't afford. It did matter, not so much for just her, but her whole race. With most of them beneath her in rank made it worse in Aileen's opinion.
“Well, are you coming then? We should go make introductions, right? Isn’t that next on your list?”
Brent's voice snapped Aila out of her musings.
"Yes...Yes, I'm coming" she hurried forward, glancing down at the white dress to make sure all was in order. "Brent, just because everyone else is lower than us doesn't give us any reason to relax. In fact less so. We have a long way to fall if this doesn't work out, their main choice is to go up from their position…"
No doubt Brent couldn't care less, however Aila found it helpful to voice her thoughts, in order to get herself organised. She rang her fingers through her long, red hair, before carefully adjusting her posture and starting off for the mansion. It truly was beautiful. She hadn't noticed before, being a little distracted by Brent's little stunt. As they made their way over the grassed grounds to the house, Aila was aware of the others also coming forward. They appeared to be a little behind the rest, due to the small distraction back at the portal, but Aila was sure they were not the last to arrive.
She sighed a little as she watched Brent, who evidently had no care about his posture. His black hair also pained her, though she wouldn't dare mention it. It was another reminder of his rebellion against their parents, and in Aileen's opinion, his species. As much as she loved him, it hurt to see him so rebellious with no care for those around him. As they finally reached the house, Aileen forced herself to look forward, before sweeping into the room.
The extravagance was clearly on display, though Aileen kept her thoughts to herself, keeping in place a serene mask. It was beautiful. Even though she was used to such luxuries, even she could not deny the taste and elegance executed in the building.
She slowly allowed her eyes to roam over the room before noticing two other people quickly racing upstairs, the male evidently being rather childish. Aileen struggled to keep herself from raising an eyebrow in shock. That was not exactly what she was expecting. She had thought most would be formal. She glanced back at Brent. Perhaps he would be more forgivable than she thought...than again they were rank three, and the two she had seen probably were a lower rank…
She turned away from the stairs and walked over to the notice near the door.
"Brent we are in rooms nine and ten" she called behind her, before scanning the rest of the list. That was when she saw her neighbours.
The Demons. Her blood ran cold. One of the worst races in Aileen's opinion. They would surely be dark, dangerous neighbours. They were also on the same floor as the Nymphs and...Genies? She had to be seeing things. Surely not. She'd assumed they'd be housed according to rank...evidently not.
"Brent…" her voice trailed off, pointing to their floor mates, not wanting to voice her opinions aloud. He would know her feelings anyway, through their link. The house could have ears by now, who knew who was already above them?
