Opening his eyes at the whistle, Messor whirled to face Balthazar. Anger at the attack flooded through him, much to strong to resist. The hybrid launched himself forward, staff a spinning blur in his hands as he closed the gap faster than any mortal could, the stench of ozone beginning to pour off of him as he channeled electricity through himself into the staff. The amulet at his throat burned like a star, for the first time struggling to maintain the glamour that bound his true form and the potential for sheer havoc it could wreak.
A moment later he was face to face with the man, releasing his claw from the staff to slash for Balthazar's stomach with a disemboweling stroke. Messor spun with the slash, other hand bringing the staff around in preparation for a wide sweep should he miss. Only in the moment of attack did the hybrid lose his careful focus, arcs of lightning shining between the talons of his gauntlet.
