Ava took note of the way Jimmy tapped on his desk and came to the conclusion that he must have a song stuck in his head. She wondered what it was momentarily, but decided not to dwell on the thought. Just then Tristan ran into the classroom with sweat still gleaming on his face. 'Must've been working out' she thought emotionlessly. She suddenly became inspired by the look on his face and decided to draw him. Ava quickly took out her sketch pad and started a rough sketch. "Ms. Tessness" Mr. Stevenson called. Ava didn't hear him, she was too focused on getting Tristan's jaw shaped correctly. "Ms. Tessness" he called again, this time louder. The sudden force in his voice made Ava look up "huh?" she said, before thinking. "I'm sorry if i'm boring you Ms. Tessness. Please at least PRETEND to pay attention. Your fellow students are doing a fine job so far. I know you all must be bored of the same speech every year, but i'm required to give it. So please, put the sketch pad away." he said, looking down at what she was drawing "Oh, and that is a fine drawing of Mr. King" Ava blushed at his comment. She didn't want Tristan to know she was drawing him, but again she brushed the embarrassment off. She wasn't trying to be creepy, he had just inspired her and she had to capture him in the moment. 'I would've done the same if it were anyone else' she thought.

Ava closed her sketchbook and put it away, feeling eyes on her. She pretended she was paying attention and nodded toward Mr. Stevenson to begin again. He smiled and walked back to the front of the classroom. 'If I can't sketch I may as well practice piano' she smirked at the thought and started lightly tapping her fingers on the desk. It made very little noise, if any at all. She just imagined the keys in front of her and played her concert piece, smiling as she thought of caressing the actual ivory keys of her baby grand at home.
