Gwen sat at her house table listening to the headmaster's short, boring, and vindictive speech. I mean she was trying not to yawn! Once the old man had sat down and some form of food had finally apeared in front of her she breathed a sigh of relief. The reason she was here. Magnus Grex made some of the best food wizarding and muggle. Then she heard someone make a comment to Vance about Navaeh. He said something about her going to Beauxbatons. A drop of candle wax fell on her hand as she reached out into the center of the table for a piece of bread. She let out a small gasp as the hot wax burnt her skin. She pulled it back towards her body and dug some ice out of her glass and wrapped it around her hand. As dinner went by she started to ignore the things going on around her such as the dancing plates and Bellona leaving and more on her hand. It was starting to throb.

The moment dinner was over she stared to rush out of the Great Hall weaving through people half hearing conversations. Something about Defense Against the Dark Arts between Vance and Felix and a boy between Bellona and Summer. But she wasn't paying attention just rushing to the hospital wing for anything. Anything to numb the pain in her hand.
