Just then, in the first row, Charles stood up with his hand waving, signaling for him to get over there. Immediately, the butler birskly walked to the seat spared for him.

"How'd it go, Eli?"

"Could have been better. She saw right through my attempts to hide my feelings for her."

"Doh!" Charles gave a playful punch to the shoulder. "Don't be so stiff! Give her some time! She'll warm up to you! I have no doubts!"
