Teiver's eyes flickered open, the first light of dawn breaking through the grey of the morning. Silently, she pulled back the sheets and stretched, bending over and touching her toes. 'Morning sleepy head.' A soft purr broke the silence of the room, and Garrison looked at her from his perch on the nightstand right next to the bed, seeming to almost smirk as a half-devoured mouse dangled from his jaws a few inches from her face.
Teiver quietly jumped, surprise written all over her face, however, it soon turned to a glower. "The bloody hell Garrison. Seriously, what the hell?" The girl's voice was nothing more than a soft whisper, hardly discernible. Garrison gave a now meaningless purr, which Teiver took for being a smug little bastard. She rolled her eyes, opening her drawers and pulling on her clothing without a sound.
Garrison remained quiet, but soon went to rip the rest of his rodent up as she dressed. Finally, she laced her satchel over her neck to her hip, checking to make sure that her charts were there. It was a bit too cloudy last night to really see any of the stars, but the sky in the Great Hall would be more than enough.
Quiet as the mouse Garrison beheaded, Teiver slipped out of the girl's section of the Vulpes House, letting out an exhale of breath. 'Why can't we just go to the tower already?' He complained plaintively, his paw pads hitting the floor softly. "It's still too fragile to sneak off now. Besides, I'm hungry, and whether or not the maps are still there, I still need to continue with my work."
The cat rolled his shoulders, hopping down the steps after they had left the sleeping Didimus painting. Her hand remained on the railings, sliding smoothly against the polished wood.
After finally reaching the bottom of the steps, and making sure no one else was up, which was highly unlikely in itself, Teiver turned, walking at a quick pace down the halls and corridors until finally she made it to the Great Hall. She pushed open the great oaken doors and her footsteps resounded along the walls as she stepped leniently towards her House table.
Settling herself down on the bench, she shifted the plate to the side and rummaged around in her satchel, Garrison hopping up next to her. She pulled out her charts, blank papers, and a pencil. Leaning back, she tilted her chin up and watched the now available stars pulsate dimly. And she got to work, copying down the available constellations and formations.
