Jimmy sat through the scene at the tollbooth, looking on at the booth operator with Ginger's words playing over and over in his head like stuck record.
Yeah it was called erroneous but then again in an election year what famous person would want the people to think he couldn't even protect his own family.
Still in his own head as he payed the toll he couldn't help but to keep repeating the same mantra silently.
"If you don't run like a rabbit the dogs won't bark..."
He watched the man thoughtfully, studying him to see what his next reaction would be.
As there was no incident Jimmy smiled at the man, slipped him and extra $100 and they were on their way.

Jimmy cruised along silently for quite a while, part of the time watching Ginger from the corner of his eye, and the rest spent with his eyes on the road.
After a while he finally drug his hand across his chin and smiled a bit as he said.
"About your dad and the pd...listen don't worry about them.
I promise nothing will happen to me...you on the other hand are going to be tricky to get home.
I know some people I can call though, trust me, you'll be safe I've worked with all these people before and I'll be with you the whole time.
You may be thrown by what they look like at first but you couldn't be safer in your own mother's arms."

He knew soon he'd have to tell her more about "these people" he knew but for now he wanted to finish the drive peacefully.
He slowed the car as they drove down a tree lined street and pulled into a short, circular, concrete drive.
As the car slowed to a halt he looked over at Ginger and smiled as he took note that she held the hat with such care.
"Listen the guy that owns this house is a friend of mine.
Very good guy and one hell of a surgeon I... I've used him a few times."
He then bowed his head a moment and looked up shaking the hair from his eyes.
I uh I have a confession to make.
I don't know what you know about me but I'm assuming since you're here with me, not very much.
I should tell you, I'm connected to some very bad people.
People that do awful things, sometimes to other bad people, and sometimes to good people.
I've done a lot of things I'm not really proud of you know..."
He then pulled his sunglasses off and set them inside of his suit jacket before continuing.
"I... did them all the same though.
Maybe I can tell you more about them some day but... I don't want to ruin today with that.
The people you meet later today, one of them is a fixer, the best in the city, also the guy that called me at Kimmies that day.
He takes care of moving things and finding things.
Anything you want in this city he either knows where to get it or who to get in touch with to find it.
I'm telling you this because I want you to know a little of what you're dealing with and I can't go into great detail because even for just this little bit of information they can kill me.
