That could entirely be considered incompetence of command, if before the fighting even starts you let your platoon fall apart due to some horribly worded sentences." After that Carter stepped back into line with the other Squad leaders. He was ready to receive punishment for his own little speech if needed, but he felt that the words of some of the enlisted personnel needed to be said and then heard by someone. To him it was unfair to be drilling the soldiers they had been lied to and then expect them to go running into battle behind a Commander or Captain, for that matter, who hardly follows orders himself.
