Darius looked over the top of the car and at Raven and said with a small smile on his face. “Now what chips are you talking about? I have plenty of Doritos of mine own, not sure why I would need yours.” Darius unlocked the door with a small smirk and got into the car, waiting for Raven to get in too. As he got into the car there was a small brown box sitting on the driver’s seat, with a smile Darius moved it under the seat and revved the engine.

Darius just shook his head with a small smile on his lips as Raven climbed into the car. He put it in reverse and pulled out easily, feeling the slight tug of momentum making him rock back. He put the car in drive and hit the gas, causing the car to almost leap forward as he sped away. He’d never been good at the whole driving slow thing. Something about his old life had rubbed off on the way he drove, always watching for a tail and moving far faster than he really needed. It made a nice little conflict with his normally calm and relaxed demeanor. He took the turns quickly and a little too sharply for most people, causing him to get pulled to the side a bit with each turn. He knew where he was going, Brylen would only be throwing a party at one place.

Darius made a stop at BK for Raven, letting her get what she wanted before heading off again. He didn’t say much the entire ride, more focused on thinking than anything else. The box under the seat was a purchase he made; he was told that it would be delivered as soon as possible and in this particular manner. Odd timing for it to get here though, just when he might be able to get Brylen to owe him something too. Every inch of him wanted to reach down and open it, checking over the silver stake that would be sitting in it. He turned his head slightly as they pulled up to the party and said to Raven. “Well your chariot ride comes to the end, I must say that you play the damsel pretty well”

They were sitting on the edge of the field, the car off and among the number of others that were already here. They could see the party getting on from where Darius had parked and everything seemed to be right. He could see the stars glowing up in the sky as though they were gems placed there to make this night even more special. Darius looked down at the field and the people on it, his eyes trying and failing to locate Andrea. He turned once more to Raven as he opened his door. “Might I have the honor of escorting you madame?”
