Wendy wasn't even looking where she was going. Her nose was stuck in a book, her eyes focused on reading every word instead of her surroundings. Although, to be fair, there wasn't exactly much to run into on a beach. For some reason, she liked the beach, even though she felt she'd never really been to a beach before. There was always a slight warm breeze, and the sand felt warm between her toes. She had a small babydoll light blue dress on, and a blue ribbon holding half of her hair back. She didn't hear any voices, and it seemed to be pretty deserted. She was reading a mystery novel, and it was just getting to the good part. The main character was about to discover that the killer was her boyfriend. Quickly, she turned the page, her eyes darting from word to word faster. The girl was turning the corner, where the boyfriend hid with a knife. As the girl saw who was waiting for her, her eyes widened in surprise and she let out a huge- OOF.
The book flew out of Wendy's hand and the sand was coming up to meet her face. Thankfully the sand wasn't hard, and it didn't hurt too much when her face collided with it. Her legs were splayed out behind her, and she felt like her dress wasn't covering anything it was supposed to. She sat up, coughing as she spit sand out of her mouth. Turning her head around, she saw it was a person she had tripped over. Narrowing her eyes, she finally realized it was the particularly handsome Rob, and her cheeks reddened. Quickly, she smoothed her skirt down her legs, making sure she wasn't exposing anything she shouldn't.
"I'm really sorry..." she mumbled, averting her eyes from him. She didn't exactly know Rob that well, they didn't really talk very often. But, she figured she wanted to get to know everyone better, so why not start now?
Herschel had been out really early that morning, as always. He didn't really like to sleep for long periods of time, it felt like too much of a waste to sleep your life away. After waking up, he'd gone straight to the gym to lift weights and do his normal workout routine. Afterward, he began his run around the outside of the island. He enjoyed that there was no one around, and just could concentrate on exercising. He passed by the beach, seeing a few people, but for once he didn't feel like stopping and socializing. When it came to his exercise routine, there was no cheating for easy days. So he continued his run, heading back for his home.
As he stopped in front of his door, he noticed Peter was headed his way. Peter was actually a really great guy, and Herschel enjoyed spending time with him. They both really knew how to have fun, and sometimes wound up getting into a little trouble. "Hey man!" he yelled, waving his hand frantically at the red-haired boy. He jogged up to meet him halfway, and gave him a big grin. "What are you up to?" If Herschel had to guess, Peter was looking for Tilli. The two seemed to spend a lot of time together and were really good friends.
While he waited for his friend to respond, he looked around the houses. No one else really seemed to be around, so they were either all up early, or they were all still sleeping. He knew he was an early riser, and it wouldn't surprise him to know that pretty much everyone else was still sound asleep in their beds. He turned his attention back to his friend, waiting for a reaction.
