Dahlia felt her breath catch in the back of her throat when he suddenly lashed out on her. She was taken aback by the venom that was laced in his words, perplexed by the fury that she saw so clearly in his strikingly blue eyes. Never before had she seen that much hatred, that much hostility in a gaze that cold before. Startled by the magnitude in which he conveyed his distress, she jumped back. She went to back up a couple paces, but her heel struck the slick forest floor just right that her feet gave out from under her and she fell right on her rear. She should have known better than to ask such a stupid question, and now she was paying for it. She instantly became aware of pain in her hands, and glanced down to see that they were beginning to bleed. She had planted her hands in thorn pushes when she fell. Thor's hackles raised, standing stiff-legged between his owner and the angel while giving a threatening growl. He looked like he was ready to tear the angel to pieces.

Now covered in pines, leaves, and even more dirt, the girl got to her feet. She was almost at a loss for words after he had spoke to her the way he did. She stood there not knowing what to do. Despite the force in which he demanded her to leave, for some reason she could not. This was a fallen angel of all things, and she knew that whatever he did to be thrown out of heaven was something so severe that he was condemned to earth. Normally fallen angels were instantly sentenced damnation to hell, which she found odd because this angel was only cast into the realm of humanity.

"I-I'm sorry..." she said, her voice meager and her gaze wavering beneath his as she failed to look him directly in the eyes. "I just...didn't know what to say. I mean, you wouldn't either if you were in my shoes.." She cringed at her smartass tendencies sometimes, and this situation was not a time to make smart-mouthed comments. Then her eyes went to his wings and she gave a frown. His wings, which she assumed were once glorious and something to marvel at, were covered in dirt and one of them looked like it had a gash from the fall. He looked like a total wreck, covered with smears of mud and miserable with emotion. Yet, he still was inhumanly handsome in appearance just as she had imagined angels to be.

"I can't just walk away when somebody's hurt...and frankly you're a broken mess right now."

She wrapped her arms around herself, starting to shiver in the freezing rain that was now starting to die down. The wind didn't help either, making things feel even colder than they really were. She pulled her hood up over her head to see if that would make her body feel at least a tiny bit warmer. The angel she assumed was cold as well, but probably not so cold as he was feeling mentally. She could see agony in his eyes beyond the anger, and it made her feel a gloomy sadness that she could not describe.

"Angel or not, you can't stay out here alone in these woods. Something or someone is going to find you, and you're easy pickings with what I'm assuming are now fractured wings."
