Falkreath. Where the buildings looked like they could all burn down in some massive inferno. Popeno stood outside of Dead Man’s Drink, looking at the old wooden doors. He looked to the building, noticing that the lack of moisture had caused the wood to start drying out. The hay they used for their roofs had started to brown and die off. He spat on the ground walked up the steps slowly, looking at his horse that was tied to the porch rail. Damn horse would rip that pole right out if he wanted to, he thought to himself. Brushing the thought off quickly, he walked into the Tavern and looked around. It was dead. There were two people, a middle aged lady that was standing behind the bar and a bard singing songs of a dead hero.
He chuckled as he made his way to the lady, staring at the bard. The bard stopped playing and looked back at him, “Want me to sing a song?” Popeno glared at him and stood square with the man from across the bar. Slowly, he approached the bard his fingers dancing on the hilt of his dagger, “Does it look like I want you to play me a silly song? Does it look like I know any songs about some dead fool that lost his life trying to be a hero?” His words were sharp and piercing, “What I want is for you to stop playing and sit down and be quiet.” Popeno got closer to him, grabbing the hilt of the dagger when the barkeep yelled out. He let go of the handle slowly, his gaze staring intently into the bard’s eyes. The bard turned away and found a seat and Popeno wheeled around on his heel and looked at the lady.
“I am looking for any information you might have on some guild called the watchers.” Popeno said as he walked back to the bar and placed his hands on the edge. The lady snorted and then laughed loudly, “The watchers, you say?” She continued to laugh, “You think they will take you? A simple Wood Elf that has lost his way and spends his time picking on the local bards?” Her voice was mocking, she sighed and stopped laughing, seeing his anger, “What are you going to do? Kill me?” Popeno grinned at her, a grin only a Daedra could have. “I just might. Or I might kill your whole family for insulting me.” His face was stone and he made no hint of an emotion in his words. She looked to him, “There’s a flier over there on the wall, go ahead and take it.” With that, Popeno pushed himself away and went to the flier. He tore it off the wall and exited the building, going to his horse. He untied him and then climbed up on him, sitting there he read the flier. The horse backed away from the bar and start trotting off, Popeno crumbled the paper up and threw it behind him and then took off for Helgen.
The walls that surrounded the place looked like they belonged to some Imperial sanctuary, not some little town. He shrugged and made his way to the stable and gave the horse to the keeper. The walls were far bigger than he had thought when he was at a distance, he walked under the gate staring up at them. Making his way to the building the Orc had simply pointed at, he brushed his tan hair with his hand. He opened the door and was immediately greeted with a woman and a man standing in front of him, “Mind not standing in front of the door like some fool?” He said to them as he pushed his way through. Walking around the small area he looked at all the people and chuckled, you put a flyer out for warriors and such and you get some pretty pathetic looking people, he thought to himself and garnished a grin.
He heard someone yell out next and saw that there was a line, he went to the end of it and waited. Noticing his friends that were standing in front of the door were in front him he decided to lighten the mood. “So, what brings you two here? You two seems more ‘fit’ than the others here,” He paused to chuckle slightly, “Yes, it does seem we have a pathetic crew here to help us in our endeavors or whatever it is the guildmaster will have us do for their own gain.” He looked at the man before him, “You sure are familiar…” Popeno had seen this man before, “Oh, wait.” His eyes lit up, “I know who you are. Yes, I know exactly who you are.” He leaned close to him and whispered into his ear, “My brothers are still searching for you, but I won’t tell them where you are. It will be our little secret.” He smiled at the man and stood there quietly with a grin from to ear to ear.
