Whisper was seated atop a rocky outcropping located a good twenty feet above the temple entrance with her feet dangling over the edge. The route was treacherous and the rocky face steep. How the blind girl had managed to reach her precarious perch was a mystery, and each gust of chilly wind that tugged at her clothes and hair seemed to threaten to tear her free from the safety of the rocks.
“I sent them away, they bore me,” Whisper called down. She seemed distracted. “Who would have thought being revered and waited upon could actually be dreary and troublesome.”
