Malory waited in her room for the doctor come in and go over all her discharge paper work with her. She was not exactly happy about being released, sure she’d have her freedom out there, but that meant she’d have all those damn memories as well, memories she didn’t want, memories she had worked so hard to bury while she had been here.

“Miss Avalon?” The doctor entered the room.

She didn’t reply she simply continued to look out the bared window down to all the news vans and protesters at the entrance of the Asylum. She couldn’t hear what they were say, but she could read all their signs. Some read “Murders should be dead.” Others read “They don’t deserve their freedom.” Malory was already getting dark though, who were they to judge her. It was never even fully proven that she had killed her family, sure they had all the evidence and she would take full credit for killing her mother, but there was no way she offed her father and her siblings. She let out a breath, she remembered every detail of her past, but there was always a blank when she tried to remember what happened in between the time the power went out and came back on.

“Today is the day of your release, there is a van waiting outside for you, as soon as were down here, the state has provided housing for you and the others for three months which should be enough time to find a job and get on your feet.” The doctors voice brought her from her thoughts.

He continued to go over information, such as taking her medication, doctor visits, what to do if she started having thoughts or harming herself again. She frowned gently at the thought how the hell were any of them supposed to get a job, the whole world knew who the Halloween Massacre teens were, they would go down in history for what everyone thought they did or didn’t do. She took a deep breath and then let it out, it was a frustrating thought. Finally she was asked if she understood all the agreements and terms, she nodded and singed the papers, before being escorted to the van. Police held back the crowed of screaming protesters as Malory climbed into the back of the Van.

The drive to the apartments that were being supplied for them seemed long, Malory was surprised at how much Shadow Brooke had grown the once sleepy suburban town was now a city. Finally on the outskirts of town the van pulled into an average looking apartment complex. She was greeted by a younger man who escorted her too her apartment on the top floor.

“Here we are, apartment number 666.” He said handing her the key as they stopped in front of the door.

“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me?” She said giving him a flat look.

“No, I’m sorry is there a problem he asked, there are six rooms rented out to you and the five others, this is you.” He said slightly confused, though he didn’t exactly get the irony of it.

“No, no problem at all.” She said unlocking the room and stepping inside to a fully furnished studio apartment, it was small, but then again she was nicer then where she had been for the past seven years.
