Talazar watched, pleased, as the boy struggled to regain his footing. He backed up even more now, his arms still spread wide to show he meant no immediate harm, yet. Giving the boy plenty of room, Talazar was content that this would either allow him, if he chose to, enough of a head start to make fleeing plausible, or if it came down to it, enough leeway to dodge any sudden attacks. Talazar let an amused and still devious smile spread across his lips as the boy drew a dagger he carried, probably the only other weapon he had. So he chose to fight? Very well, Talazar would ensure a good fight and slow death.

"I won't give you the pleasure of my running, Shade. I'll be taking my weapon back and I'll kill you with it,"
the boy had said. Nodding with slight approval, Talazar finally spoke.

"Well," he began, "you've definitely got courage. It's either a courage that should be looked upon in awe, or a stubbornness that results in an, unfavorable... end..." Talazar's smirk increased as he spoke, emphasizing the last word dramatically while eying the boy carefully. "Anyway, I'm feeling rather, playful, tonight. So let's make this interesting." The man held up the sword in front of him and backed another pace or two. By now he'd managed to navigate around the boy to where he'd started, next to the massive boulder. His arm suddenly swung out and in one precise motion, smashed the jewel against the hard rock, dislodging it from the sword without harming the weapon itself. Talazar watched the little jewel fall uselessly to the ground, before rotating the now normal weapon in his hands. "Now then," he said. "Catch."

It was of course, warned, but yet at the same time sudden, and could catch most off guard. The speed at which the man could reverse his grip on a weapon and hurl it forward, the blade rotating so fast that it melted into one complete and solid shiny grey circle, humming as it traveled through the air. The weapon was well crafted, that was for sure as it rotated neatly around the crosspiece, the midpoint of balance. Talazar's aim was never off unless he wanted it to be, and now he sent the weapon spiralling towards the boy's right shoulder. If he didn't move quickly and actually totally out of the way, it would either slice through his arm, or lodge into his collar bone. Either way, Talazar didn't care.

He moved next, following the weapon as it traveled but not matching its speed. He trailed the hammer behind him, held firmly in his right hand as he ran forward in preparation for an uppercut, or swing. The boy would no doubt doge to the left, as moving to the right would result in worse maiming or decapitation, but when he went to the left he'd encounter something possibly worse.

As Talazar approached he brought up the massive hammer in one heavy arc, the head moving to intercept the boy's evasion. The only other option would be dodge backwards or simply take the blade. His shoulder would be shot, of course, and Talazar had chosen the right because most swordsmen were right handed, but at least that option gave the boy another weapon other than his dagger. Whatever the outcome, Talazar didn't care. He was always thinking, planning the best attack within a moment before executing it flawlessly. Time seemed to slow for the man as he was bursting with anticipation, waiting for the boy to either fall by the blade, or his hammer. It suited him either way, Talazar simply wanted to see him dead.
