Moira made her way up to the lively looking convenience store, Mello and Marsha sluggishly following behind her. She came to a stop in front of the door, looking in at the man behind the counter who was getting ready to hand the older, husky woman in front of it change and a pack of cigarettes. She shook her head as goose bumps crawled down from her neck to her back.

All of this...is so...wrong.
Shaking away her shudder again, she pushed open the door and walked in slowly.
Looking around, she found the isle with cat food and grabbed enough for what she thought would be a week or so. She turned left and headed towards the coolers and went to grab a soda when she realized that there weren't any police or adults to tell her she was too young to buy a beer. She grabbed a six pack of a common beer brand and chuckled to herself.

"I'm a winner today, aren't I?"

She sighed as she went down the isle to her right and grabbed some chips and crackers, a couple packs of gum, and some jerky. Making her way over to the counter, she looked at it curiously as she contemplated walking behind it.

"Definitely would suck if time started back up as I helped myself to some cigs from behind here."

But she didn't give it a second thought. Marching behind the counter past the cashier, she grabbed a carton of her favorite menthol cigarettes and a handful of lighters, managing to shove them all into her bag. She heaved a little as she re-positioned the bag against her back and whistled for the two cats. They came sprinting from the back end of the store, Marsha with a small rat in her mouth.

"Aww, Marsh, is that a present for Mama?" Moira asked in her cutest voice she could muster. She grabbed the rat out of the cat's mouth, examined it as she held it arms length away and then put it in the nearest trash can.

"That takes care of that. Come on, Babes, lets go check out the rest of the town before we head out."

Moira opened the door and headed out, turning left as she headed back the way she came.

After another forty-five minutes or so, Moira found herself past the four-way stop heading towards the center of town.

Might as well loot a few clothing shops and find a place to sleep soon.
She thought as she walked down the middle of the road, passing cars full of people, people on their bicycles, groups of kids walking down the side walk.
It was all so...fake. Moira considered the fact that she was dreaming, but knew better than to do that. Whatever she perceived was her reality, no matter what. She learned that in a psychology class in high school, one of her more favorite classes.

Making her way into the center of town, Moira lit up a cigarette and smiled. As strange as all this was, it was kind of nice not having to deal with another person telling her what to do or what not to do, judging her for how she looked or acted, and most certainly not having to abide by any rules.

I could definitely get used to this.

She laughed out loud and grinned at the sound of it. Liking the sound of her voice all alone in this new world, she gave a great howl, followed by a chain of uncontrollable laughter.

Why not enjoy yourself when you're the last person on earth?
