The room was warm and on the toasty side, not unlike the party downstairs that was heated via the dancing guests. Around the room furniture was carefully arranged. A couch sat against one of the walls, across from which two love seats resided, each turned inwards at an angle. One wall consisted of floor-to-ceiling book shelves and were filled with colorful books and pages. The carpet was fluffy and soft to the touch, contrasting against the sharp brown walls that surrounded the room.

"Mm," Delilah replied to his gratitude, though was still in a daze from the party. She could feel the blood pounding in her ears against the pulse of the music. It was great to be out of crazy atmosphere. She relaxed when he smiled, feeling as if she'd done at least one right thing in this disastrous night.

His apology surprised her, though she quickly realized he might have been bothered about his mysterious behavior. "No, it's fine," she said quickly, eyes equally as apologetic. "I didn't mean to bump into you. I was trying to get out of the crowd but people were bumping into me left and right." Her stomach fluttered as his fingers lightly brushed skin.

She hadn't realized they were still hand in hand. The brunette averted her eyes from his, strangely nervous. It was suddenly so quiet. Her heart felt so loud, so strained; it pumped harshly, almost hurting. "I'm fine," she breathed, meeting his eyes for only an instant before looking away shyly. Biting her tongue, she slipped her hand out of his grasp and moved across the room to sit on the couch, head lowered slightly in embarrassment. As she sat, she realized for the first time that her band-aid missing. "Oh, when did this fall off?" she murmured, fingering the raw skin where the band-aid had tugged roughly at her skin.
