Sage could do little more than watch as the Hellhound pounced on Lucas and brought him to the ground, where it immediately began to dig into the demigod. Bits of armor flew everywhere, then came the cloth and the blood. Another second more and Lucas would have definitely been killed, but lucky for him, Chiron intervened. The hellhound was suddenly filled with arrows and an instant later it dissolved into dust, as most monsters did when slain. He almost expected to find Lucas torn up after the encounter, but apparently the water had helped him yet again, healing all of his wounds in mere moments. The rest of the campers just stood and watched in shock, unable to say anything. For a time, there was silence.. Until Chiron announced that everyone should head back to the camp. Except for Lucas, Max, Sage, and Ismael.. They were to head to the Big House... After Ish had changed into drier clothes, of course.
Sage slipped Soulrender back onto his finger in its ring form and turned to Max. “Sorry about this.” He said quickly before crouching down and wrapping an arm around her back and the other around her thighs. He rose then, carrying her awkwardly in his arms, and walked, half stumbling, towards camp. Sage and Max arrived just a bit after Lucas, who'd already been seated near Chiron. Ishmael hadn't arrived yet.. Knowing him, he hadn't even changed yet. He was probably still on the field, picking through the wreckage left over from his automatons, cursing the Hermes' campers all the while. It was too bad he couldn't be there to help.. Ish had a tendancy to create some very imaginative, very detailed curses that were all too useful later on...
He stood there for a moment or two more, waiting for someone to notice him, while shaking a bit from the exhaustion caused by the capture the flag game and from carrying Max all the way there. While he didn't necessarily mind it, he wouldn't object to them finding him a place to put her down.
