Franki understood Atomsk's deflection. Obviously, that was something really important to him, and very fragile as well. She immediately cursed herself for bringing up the topic, obviously it wasn't going to be a good one.

Thankfully, Atomsk perked up, with a smile on his face, bringing them out of the awkward topic. "So, why would you ever stop dancing, Franki? You were amazing! I mean, I understand your mother pushed you so hard. But you're so talented! It's something to show off. Something to be proud of."

Franki smiled, blushing when he said she was amazing. "I never thought of it that way." She stated. "I loved dancing when I was a kid, but I grew out of it. I thought that dancing was what caused my lack of friends, so I wanted to quit and just focus on school."

"Turns out I was just weird." She mused. "After that, I just didn't want to go back to dancing. Not because I didn't like it, but because I didn't want to face my mother's smug stare when she would say 'I told you so', in her obnoxious voice."

She kicked at nothing, feeling her disappointment at herself for giving up her dancing. She could have stories of dancing in shows in London or Russia! But instead, she chose to be normal. "Plus, I never really liked showing off. I mean, if an opportunity came up for me to dance, I would. But I would always tone it down. Proper ballet form wasn't really needed at Homecoming."

She chuckled running a hand through her hair. "I just wanted to be normal, to live a normal life. No 6 AM lessons, no 13 hour rehearsals, just me and my thoughts, because I didn't have any friends, enjoying my years of high school, even though they were awful because I didn't have any friends."
