"That's cool!" responded the girl who was apparently her roommate for New York, Dahlia had yet to learn her name. ""I can't wait to see the room. It's like $41,000 for one night- but we're here for free!"
"Yeah!" Dahlia grinned big and nodded quickly. "It's amazing."
"Hey, what's your name, by the way?" she heard Adrienne ask the girl.
"I'm Dylan- I know, it's a weird name for a girl!" Dahlia smiled and shrugged as if to say, 'nah, not really.' "I guess you guys have checked in, right?" Dahlia nodded, but before she could speak, Dylan asked, "Do you wanna come upstairs with me?"
Both Adrienne and Dahlia agreed, and Dahlia was quite relieved now that she didn't have to find her room all on her own. As they waited for the elevator to reach the bottom floor, Adrienne looked at her room card.
"I'm in 004. Looks like I won't be with you guys, but at least we can hang out during the day!"
Dahlia frowned slightly at first, but then nodded a bit, "This is true. There should be lots to do in this city!" Just then, the elevator doors opened and the three stepped in. As they did so, Adrienne spoke up, "Hey, do you know if the vacation people will let us go shopping later? If they do, we should totally go together!"
"Oh my gosh, yes! Hopefully they'll be fine with it, I don't see why not though!"
"Yeah, they probably will... NYC has lots of shops!" Dylan added in. Then, she checked her card and said, "We're at the 52nd floor right? This is gonna be a long elevator ride..." Dahlia nodded and sighed, biting her lip. Just like with car rides, she wasn't big on elevator rides either. Any extended amount of time in a confined space wasn't her greatest idea of fun.
Finally, the elevator came to a stop and with a ding, the doors slid apart. Dahlia went out into the hallways with Adrienne and Dylan, and spotted the door to her and Dylan's room right away.
Of course, Adrienne had to go off to her different room. Dahlia waved to her and said, "Well, bye Adrienne, see you soon," and Dylan said her goodbyes as well. Dylan used her card to open up their room and when she swung the door open they were met with an amazing sight. The suite was incredible. Dylan ran off to go find the bedrooms, but Dahlia immediately rushed over to the giant floor to ceiling window which offered a spectacular view of the city.
"Wow." Was all Dahlia managed to say as she stared out in amazement. Then she heard Dylan's voice coming from the bedrooms, "Lets get first dibs." Dahlia grinned and ran towards the bedrooms with her bags and luggage. She stopped in the hallway in front of the two bedrooms, unsure which room to pick. She felt a little awkward having to choose, because on one hand she didn't want Dylan to think she didn't like her by picking the room she wasn't in, but what if Dylan didn't want to share a room with her?
Before Dahlia was able to decide, someone's speaking diverted he]r thoughts.
"Hello how may I be at your service?" Dahlia frowned, wondering who the random woman was in their suite and turned to Dylan to see if she had any idea, but she looked just as shocked.
"Erm could I get some pizza please?" Dylan asked the woman. Dahlia was still a bit uncertain, were they REALLY getting their own personal butler?
"Yes of course." the lady smiled and left. Dahlia realized she probably should have asked for something, but she wasn't really hungry anyways, and she wasn't sure what sort of vegan options you could find at this place.
"I'm gonna go to sleep quite soon because i'm really tired." Dylan told her. Dahlia wondered why everyone she had been with so far today was so tired, but she smiled and nodded, "Alright, suit yourself." Maybe it was the time difference, Hawaii was several hours behind most states. Dahlia wandered back over to the window, deciding she'd pick her room later, maybe after their other two room mates showed up.
It was a surprisingly quick amount of time before the butler returned. "Pizza is ready!"
As Dylan started on the pizza, Dahlia sat beside her, not that she wanted to eat any, but she figured that she should visit with her new roommate and not spend all her time standing quietly by the window.
"What do you want to watch on TV?" Dylan asked her. Dahlia frowned slightly and thought about it, "Ummmm, what shows would you recommend? I don't know of any, I really never watch much TV." she smiled apologetically.
