A small sigh came from the grungy looking man, but he figured that it had been too much to hope for. Victor would have to settle for a Hartke combo, wich was fine by him. As long as it meant that he could get his bass plugged in and actually hear it again. It had been so long that it seemed like years ago. Wait... It is years ago. He sat for a moment in his own thoughts, not at all registering what was going on around him. After a few minutes, he forced himself to snap out of it and be present, so he could give them a good impression. Something about a distortion pedal? Victor tried to recall what Ted said last as he followed him into the rehearsal room. Victor didn't really use distortion pedals very much for his bass, since he'd never owned one. On the other hand, he was good at laying down a heavy sounding bass that rumbled in the background, putting more force to the sound. "Thanks, uh.. Maybe I'll try fitting it in somewhere." As soon as the words had left his mouth, he regretted them. It made him sound like he didn't know what it was, or what he was going to do with it. Victor knew, he was just so uncertain about everything at the moment, and afraid to blow this chance. There was also the thing with Edei in the back of his head, though it hadn't really occurred to him that he had actually met her again now. "Right." Victor gave Ted an smile though it only lasted for a moment, and didn't quite reach his eyes. It was admittedly a little hard for him to read the Cor Leonis frontman, but something told him that he was quickly going to determine whether to keep Victor, or kick him out.

It took too much of his focus to let the man answer, as Ted placed the pedal near his amp. Victor leaned down and plugged everything in, getting ready to play. He turned the amp on and shrugged to himself, satisfied with the sound though he knew it could be much better. Or maybe that was because his heart already belonged to another amplifier. Turning the volume down on his bass, Victor fiddled around for a moment just to get the feel of it, then turning it back up again. And it still sounds great... Now that brought a smile to his face. Having it plugged in to an amp after so long, and even getting to toy around with a pedal was heaven for him. "Free jam? Sure." How he'd ever gotten inside the studio, standing with his bass plugged into an amp, about to play with Cor Leonis, was a mystery to him. It was probably a mystery to the Cor Leonis members as well. Victor Holden was a damn fine bass player, but all he could do was hope that the people around him now would see that, disregarding his appearance. His eyes moved around the room, to Ted, to Charlotte, to Bey - reminding him of the fact that the only name he could remember was Ted's. I wonder what she's thinking. The first look he'd gotten from Charlotte didn't seem very approving. Focus. Breathe. Stay calm... Victor gave a nod to let them know that he was ready, glancing over at Charlotte as she was about to start them off. Well, here goes nothing...
