The song had just ended as a girl tapped on Lyra's shoulder. Aurora kept a close eye on her. There was something familiar about her, but Aurora couldn't figure out what it was... yet. Aurora didn't say anything and decided to let her sister lead the conversation. It seemed the energy was beginning to die down. About three hours had passed since the start of the ball, and many of the guests were beginning to tire. Soon they would be heading home, one by one until there was nothing left except for a huge mess for the servants to clean up.

Aurora felt relieved at the thought of some peace and quiet. Though she was not tired, all the dancing and singing and laughing had gotten to be a bit overstimulating after the second hour. Aurora knew she would need to learn to cope with such occasions because it wasn't going to get any easier. Eventually Aurora began to feel the giddiness leave her. Now she desired to return to the dark comforts of her room so she could lie down on her bed and stare at the ceiling. She needed some time to calm her thoughts or better yet, not to think at all.
