Cam paced, hunched in disappointment and frustration around the temporary jail-cagey-things they have at police headquarters. Taking a long drag of her cigarette, she continued her ramblings at the only other person in the room: the guard that arrested her. Cam knew that she could be out of this place in a second if she really wanted to, but, hey, it's worth the experience, right?
"I just don't
get it! What the hell is
noise pollution anyways? Music is music is music, and humans love music! I'm trying to give people what they want, and
what do they do? Arrest me! You humans are impossible to please! Why on Earth did I spend the last 5 million years trying?! Ridiculous, all of you..." She ended off with a grumble.
The officer stared at her with wide eyes, not knowing exactly what to say.
"And, also, what about--!" Cam was cut off with a choke, inhaling a bit too much smoke at a time, and bending over cough it out. She didn't even waste time to curse her weak human body before stumbling over to the tiny window in the cell and looking out. Her mental demon radar, it blipped! Closing her eyes and spanning the 100 mile radius, she caught the wisps of a demon aura to her far right. Cam hooked on to it, making sure it doesn't get away.
Excellent.Turning back to the officer, who had stood up in alarm when she had begun coughing, Cam gave a smile. With a small wave of her gloved hand, the lock on the door turned red hot and melted in the span of a second. Pushing the door open, she shoved him aside, yelling, "We'll keep in touch!" as she ran out of the room.
Dashing through and out of the station (grabbing her duffel along the way), Cam rushed into a side alley, brushed out her wings and flew up into the air, heading in the direction of the demon aura.
A zoo? she thought in curious fascination.
Where they hold animals captive, right?Landing quietly, her heart racing, Cam crept up behind an oak tree a several dozen feet back to observe the other demon. He was watching some kind of strange waddly creatures in the tank in front of him. What was she supposed to do now? Just stride up to him and say hello? Or was there some kind of special secret greeting type thing that demons did? And why on Earth had she started to think about this now?!
