"What did you go out for anyways?" If he'd never gone out, she'd never have left the room, that freaky bloodsucker wouldn't have bitten her, and none of this would have ever happened. She wanted to blame it on him, but she really couldn't. Gale had told her the rules, and one of those rules were to not leave the room without him or his permission. Glancing at the clock, she sighed. Three more minutes and she would be eighteen. Pulling herself to the side of the bed, she reached behind the dresser, grabbing the plug for the clock and pulling it out of the wall, as if that would stop time and keep her seventeen forever.
