As he spoke, she gently sipped at her drink. How odd to not even have drinks like juice or milk. Even though she couldn’t relate, Gabrielle suddenly respected him a bit. She would never be able to survive without fruit juices. His quick reactions to his new experience with soda made her smile grow along her rosy lips. “Ulfunn,” she said quietly to herself. What a unique name.

“My name is Gabrielle O’Shea,” she said, nodding at his introduction. “You can call me Gabbi or Brell if you like.”

Head tipped to one side, she curiously eyed his backpack as he shrugged it off. “I guess I could join you for awhile.” Returning his grin, she nodded in encouragement. It didn’t seem that he smiled often, so she was very happy that he had shared one of those smiles with her.
