A red-hot surge of sheer, barely containable rage flooded Mar's system at the words the figures in the trees spoke. It took all of his willpower to stay put, breathing slow and quietly to try to keep himself in check. He moved instinctively closer to Sumara at these words, hovering near her shoulder and preparing himself on tense muscles for any sudden movements from the two men.

Curiously fear did not even factor into the mix until he and Sumara had trekked as swiftly and silently as they could in a different direction for at least five full minutes. Both were in silent agreement to err on the side of caution before they would speak.

By the time he felt it was safe to raise his voice above a whisper, all he could think of to ask was, "Are you alright?" Images of those men heading to Oldale, breaking into Sumara's home and taking her parents away by force turned his stomach. Even more upsetting was the image of what would have happened to her had they not decided by some twist of fate to start their journeys today.

Brigson blinked rapidly as Jace pressed harder back against him, and for a moment he forgot that he had to breathe to stay alive. Feeling tense all across his body, Brigson tried not to shift and upset the weird balance they had found, instead flicking the reigns slightly whenever minor direction was needed for the Fearow. The bird soon leveled off high above the world below, gliding on its enormous wingspan in a rather smooth ride.

Unsure if he could even be heard over the rush of air over the wings, Brigson called out, "How are you holding up?"
