Daniel Bowman
Resting his chin on two fingers, Daniel contemplated the paper in front of him. He'd just began working a letter, the terribly dull business it was. His script, which was usually spiky and disinterested, had morphed into something elegant with a bit of patience, but it was tedious to craft the careful words. In the moment it was much easier to coo sweet nothings, but on paper, Evelyn would have time to look everything over more than once so he had to structure it as best he possibly could. Perfectly. Letter writing was a mandatory part of romance, he'd be cheating if he didn't keep up correspondence with the doe. He'd wished to bring her along, but she was so very young, and her father had not allowed her to make her way to this world. Such a shame. But it meant he could interest himself in a finer array of things, since he didn't have to cater to her. She would definitely follow him around and it would become tiresome quickly. He needed some time to...himself.
Just as he formed that thought, he noticed another presence enter the room. he did not look up, he could tell who it was, and he shifted as she sat down on his lap, releasing his pen and moving his hand to her knee as she settled down. Her could feel her hand against his chest as his silvery eyes shifted to her face, my didn't she look mischevious? A fain grin curved his features as he examined her face. Well, it wasn't every day that a lovely princess just dropped into a man's lap, now was it? Especially not such a delightful jewel as this one. Even if she obviously wasn't taken with him the way most women were, a terrible shame, he enjoyed her most delicious attentions. She was a curious soul, and he delighted in his attempts to unravel her. It was terribly fun.
"I suppose I have," He said as her fingers brushed his neck and her hand settled there, " My sweet Eve could not accompany me." His voice was only mildly sorrowful, he was too busy enjoying the view. No one had ever accused Daniel of not fully enjoying a perfectly formed woman, and they couldn't start now. "But I suppose it leaves me more time for work, doesn't it, my Princess?" His grin quirked up on one side, and he lost the sorrowful act. It was very difficult to seem sad when there was an engaging woman on his lap, especially one with such a look in her dark-lashed eyes.
He did not speak for a moment, lifting the hand that wasn't situated on her leg up to brush across her cheekbone and capture a lock of hair. He drew it behind her ear with the utmost care, an innocent gesture, of course, before looking to her eyes again. "But what is the lovely princess doing on my lap this evening? Shouldn't you be out ravishing the town, heart?" His hand trailed down the side of her neck briefly before he rested it at her back, almost as if to keep her from falling, thought that obviously wasn't the case. He affected the mournful tone again for a brief moment as he continued, "I'll never finish my letter this way, and poor Eve will wonder what became of her lover." The grin never left his face, though his words truly did sound as if he were a love torn soldier longing for his woman back on the home front.
Emotions were too easy to affect, it was not more than a simple hat trick to warp his face or his voice. It was a gift and a much used skill.
"If my lady wishes to use me as a chair, I suppose I'm helpless to her whim, aren't I?" he added as an almost afterthought, lifting one shoulder slightly. In all honesty he was pleased to have her so close. She was just so devastatingly beautiful. It was amazing how two people could have almost identical hair colors, The Princess and Evelyn, but look so different. Perhaps it was her breasts. Eve was rather flat. Yes, that was probably it. Alanya had a nice figure. And that look in her eye. And she was amusing to talk to. And she was currently in his lap, so she had most of his attention, which pulled for a lot. Daniel was the type of man who often thought most fondly of whatever creature was currently in his embrace, no matter who it was. No game was more important than the current one, and currently he was engaged in whatever tangled mess he called his game with the Princess of the Vampires.
