The arrow came out with a sickening, slick sound as it slid clean out of the wound. The blood was spilling onto the forest floor, painting the otherwise green and brown earth a vivid red. Avery let out an unconscious twitch, hands moving slightly towards his stomach.
"This is no dream, child," said the man with the arrows, voice resonating through the forest. "That creature before you is evil- a foul monster with no morals. We are cleansing this forest, making it safe once more for the people of this land."
The hooded men around him didn't so much say anything, but there was a distinct murmur of agreement, their voices echoing much like the archer's had.
"Now step aside- we must deal with it." One of the hooded men made a move to pick up Avery who could offer no real resistance.
