As Jason enjoyed his breakfast he also took the opportunity to guage the other students in the cafeteria. From this angle he couldn't quite see everyone, but it would be good to get an approximation of how they had changed over the summer, if at all. There were a few new students in today whom he didn't recognize by sight, but most of those present were familiar faces. Either it had been a slow year for new students or most of the potentials simply hadn't arrived. Arturo was there, chatting it up with Genevieve, who herself was staring at one of the new arrivals like a wolf staring at a raw steak. It would be worrying if he thought she had any kind of brains to be worried over.
Vaughan Bennett was once again flirting with anything on two legs, which today seemed to be Warren Ramirez. Between the look on Bennett's face and Ramirez's hair-trigger temper that spoke of an explosion waiting to happen. Haven Tatumn was off eating alone, nothing special there. The headmaster came in around then, pushing Kaelana ahead of him - though she was barely recognizable, as she seemed to have decided over the summer to take her 'connection to nature' further than ever before, to the point where she probably had more of her skin colored green than its own, natural shade.
When the headmaster spoke up about history class Jason knew it was time to finish up what was left of his breakfast, but before he moved on to the classroom he saw Smith talking to two of the new students. He listened through the old man's ears for a moment under the pretense of picking up his suitcase. Their names apparently were Jack and Philanie. They were being given the usual "I'm your friend, the headmaster, come talk to me if you like" routine. Jason continued listening from a distance as he left the room, though he doubted anything interesting would come up.
