Lauren wasn't about to fight a losing battle. Judas not being on her side was something she was accustomed to, but she couldn't curry his favor with Tiffany taking his side. Lauren struggled to see reason but her chivalry wouldn't allow her to just abandon human lives like that. Judas looked down at her and rolled his eyes, pulling her to the side behind the counter where all the weapons where stored, out of earshot from their blue-haired companion. Lauren refused to look him in the eyes, out of spite. That didn't last long. Judas held her chin between his thumb and forefinger and forced her to look up at him and meet his gaze.

"Kitten," he let the pet name drag out, his eyes showing her exactly how deep his condolences were. Lauren turned her head away and he sighed in defeat, plopping his hand down on the top of her head, steering her gaze that way. "I don't know why you feel obligated to save every Tom and Susan you come across but you have to get this messiah perspective out of your head. There are bad people in this world. Situations like this bring out the worst in people."

"There's good in everyone." Lauren resisted.

Judas stared at her, "You won't be saying that when we get mugged or killed or worse." Lauren's eyes gaped slightly at the seriousness in his voice, at the threat that came with it. She'd be naive to think that people weren't that cruel but she knew people were. Lauren looked down, breaking the moment as she slowly began to accept his premise. He was more the devil's advocate than anything, always giving her an unhealthy dose of reality. She needed it though. She supposed Judas needed her too...she just couldn't figure out for what.
