Warmth. That was the first thing Wes noticed as his mind clawed its way out of the fog. He wondered if he'd passed out somewhere, though he couldn't remember drinking. He moved his legs a bit, and found they sifted through something vaguely familiar. He moved his hands, and found that it was sand. Then, it all came back, and everything clicked into place.
He was in Maya Virtuele.
He opened his eyes quickly and saw a clear blue sky hanging above him. It was kind of beautiful; seemingly pristine and never ending. His eyes traveled to the left, then to the right, but all he could make out were dark shapes. Wes decided to sit up, hoping he was the first to wake up. A quick glance around told him he was wrong, three had him beat him to it.
Averting his gaze, his dark eyes slid over those around him. There were some guys Wes made a mental not to keep an eye on, but what really caught his eye were the women. Maybe this won't be so bad after all, he thought happily, his mouth sliding into a lazy grin. I just hope they have some whiskey in this place.
Wes jumped to his feet easily, taking stock of his situation. He was clothed in an all-black jumpsuit that rubbed comfortably against his skin, while he was wearing dark boots on his feet. He was standing on a beach, the water stretching far beyond the horizon, gentle waves rippling the surface. Two women stood at the shoreline, while a man stood not too far away, his gaze settled on the group. Wes looked him up and down and decided he wasn't a threat, then quickly looked at the women again, taking a few moments to...fully appreciate their appearance.
There was no one else around, the beach seemed to be completely deserted. Maybe this place had yet to be settled by people escaping their reality. This virtual reality was supposed to be huge, which was part of the problem. How hard would it be to find this Dr. Holloway?
Nimbly picking his way through the mess of limbs, Wes walked to the edge of the still sleeping group, deciding he'd wait for them all to come to before he introduced himself.
