It’s been a while since the two flew off of Woodacre on an airbike, leaving the Tutelians and the tanuki knights behind on the Avory airship. The princess of Avory and her personal protector are now halfway between the sky of Clearwood and Lightwake. Thousand miles below them is the land connecting the continent of Pruwas and Lightwake. The sun hasn’t rose where they were. Unlike Ostwyn, it was still dark but wasn’t raining.

Bella slowly slipped her hand in her satchel, checking her things. It took her a moment to notice that her staff wasn’t there.

“Gabe, is my staff with you?” She asked him

Gabe slid his visor up and looked back at Bella “I’m sorry Bella” he apologized “I think it’s still near the lake in Woodacre”

Bella was slightly taken aback. She took out her hand from the satchel and placed her arm around Gabe's waist, leaning her head at his back and sighed.

“Make sure I don’t fall of cause I can’t fly without my staff…” she told Gabe

“Yes, ma’am” Gabe saluted at the sky while his other hand still on the bike’s handle.

The princess found Gabe’s response amusing, causing her to chuckle slightly.

“I see you have cheered up” Gabe said

She did not respond but Gabe could feel a smile under the black helmet she wore. A moment later, the princess spoke once again “I can’t stop thinking about Mitei and Reiko…” she told him

Gabe patted Bella’s hand which was latched on to him “you will, soon”

“I think I was too harsh on them…” she added

“No you weren’t” Gabe disagreed “I can’t believe I trusted them to take care of you”

Bella sighed “well, Mitei is a battle mage. Battle mage are built to take down their foes instead of protecting their allies while Reiko was a bit far to help”

Gabe chuckled “are you taking their side?”

Bella returned the chuckle “I guess I am”

“So I guess it’s my fault for counting on them to protect you” Gabe joked

“Yes, it was!” Bella laughed, joking “actually, it’s my fault for sending you away”

“Indeed it was…” Gabe returned the joke and turned his head sideways to look at the princess “I’m happy to see that you are still yourself, Bella”

Bella chuckle “but I feel somewhat different. I don’t feel like hiding behind a rock anymore” he told Gabe excitedly and raised her hands up “did you see and hear how I spoke on the airship? I finally conquered my fears of speaking out my mind!”

Gabe laughed “yes I saw and heard it, Bella”

"Oh I bought a new jacket for you" she told him

"Really?" Gabe asked with joy

A hint of the sun was finally seen. The darkness of the sky turned into the mix color of purple and orange as Gabe and Bella continued to speak while heading towards Lightwake in full speed.
