The moment he spotted her he made his way over to her and she closed the distance between them. He was relieved to see that she'd made it through the crowd safely enough. What would Touya have done to him should he have lost April to something as simple as a crowd? Shaking his head slightly, Damea ran his fingers through his short white hair.
“Let’s head to the outskirts, the number of city guards are only going to increase here because of Touya’s actions. Best not to test them a second time,” April stated and started down the road to reach the very edges of the city limits. He followed after her, feeling a bit anxious at leaving the Therian back in the city. He frowned at himself and pushed aside the worries. Touya could handle himself and the man was more than capable of making a break for it. If they caught him, well they wouldn't be able to keep him long. The Therian was damned resilient if anything.
Once they reached the outskirts of the city, Damea followed April so that they were off the road a ways. It shouldn't take Touya long to find them, so Damea settled on the ground, stretching out his legs. As he sat there he began to get a tingling feeling along his spine and neck. Turning around he peered across the road to the other side where a line of trees grew tall and thick. The brush was fairly dense, so it was difficult to make out anything from where he sat. Even so, he couldn't shake the feeling that there was someone there watching them. His eyebrow came down and he turned away to face April.
"I believe we've got a stalker. The forest behind me. I could be wrong, but we might want to keep an eye out for anything suspicious," Damea said to the former soldier.
The guards were persistent as they chased him through the city streets. So much so, that Touya was beginning to think his chances of escaping were rather slim. The last thing he wanted was to be captured and then force April and Damea to come back into the city to try to break him out. Not that he would make them do that, but he knew how Damea was and the way April was recently, he was sure they both wouldn't just leave him at the mercy of the guards.
The sounds of guards coming down the alley ahead of him caused the Therian to grit his teeth and glower at his chosen route. Probably a poor choice to begin with, but he hadn't the time originally. Touya veered off and started down another alleyway, this one carrying him farther from his intended destination which was the western gate. Of course by this time, he was sure that the security around all of the gates was rather tight and he was going to have to come up with something rather... unpredictable, to get out of the stone walled city.
Touya's thoughts whirled as he ran, trying to formulate a plan to escape. So far, nothing came to mind and he was beginning to despair that he'd made the wrong decision once again. As he came around a corner he barreled into three guards and all four of them tumbled to the ground. Touya rolled to his feet, wincing slightly as his wounds gave him some discomfort. Twisting around he faced the men that were regaining their footing. In the alleyway that he'd just come from he spotted several other soldiers rushing after him.
Che, Touya glowered at them as he slowly stood up and stretched his hand forward. His body glowed a second time and he unleashed the power that built up along his frame. The explosion rocked the walls of the buildings nearby and dust exploded all around them as some of the rock was disintegrated from the attack. Touya used the dust to make a quick escape down the open street and back into the back alleys. If all went well he could start making his way back to the western gate. From there he would figure a way out. Until then, he would just have to concentrate on getting there without getting caught. Supposing, of course, all went in his favor.
