"Oh, it's no problem, Sonny. The Pokemon need good loving trainers, and you seem to fit the bill perfectly. Take good care of him, and he'll take care of you. Just mind that the flame on the tip of his tail never goes out completely, or he will never battle again."
Seth entered the lab.

"I hate to be a bother, Professor, but I need another potion."
"Did Charmander get hurt?"
"No, I caught a Scyther. He's a little banged up from his tussle with Charmander, and I need him in good shape."
Professor Oak handed him a Potion, and Seth released Scyther from his Pokeball.
"Here you go, man, this will make you feel good and strong again."

Scyther initially looked wary, but chomped it and smiled.
"Scyther!"
"See, I told you so. From here on, you and Charmander are teammates. I've been training him pretty well today, so let me check your level."
It was revealed to be a level one Pokemon.

"Wow, I thought you'd be higher with that fighting strength. We can probably get you caught up in the morning. For now, it's getting late and we could all use a rest."
He returned Scyther to his Pokeball and turned to Sonny.
"If you need a place to stay in Pallet Town, my house has a spare bedroom. We can bed down for the night and start our adventure in the morning."
