Meanwhile, in the middle of a nearby field, the ground began to stir. At first one might assume that it was merely the grass moving in the breeze. Upon closer examination however, it was not the grass, but the earth underneath it that was shifting, and in a moment, the end of a spade broke through. This probably would have appeared quite strange to your average onlooker, as one ordinarily expected that end of a spade to be shoved into the ground by someone, rather than have it emerge from the earth on its own.

The mystery deepened further as the spade's blade was followed by the rest of it, and then by a girl in an outfit not in the least suited to her current environment. For that matter, the only environment it would be suited for would be an anime convention. Tossing the digging implement out of the hole, she then pulled herself up after it, before allowing herself to collapse back onto the grass with a sigh. She didn't seem very inclined to move either.
