I think perhaps I always knew that something was different. There was always a feeling within me that thought, well hey... this is new. Alas it was a feeling I ignored. I had thought it to be a part of this whole love thing, something that made my stomach jump and curl, it made my skin tingle and my breath come out in quick pants. How wrong I was. This wasn't anything to do with love, this wasn't anything to do with how I felt. Anyways I'm getting ahead of myself. I've always lived here. Things don't change when it comes to me, everything is regulated and boring. I sleep, got to school, do homework and sleep again. I was still on that schedule that one day we all met up at Klaus's house... I look back on it now and think it quite funny that I had been so calm and so unaware of what was to change.
Jesse had met with Klaus and Eden in the front of the school yard, his backpack filled with homework and yet another test that had a large red D stamped over the top. He remembered the look of disappointment his teacher had given him, and though he knew he should be sorry for it, he felt a small flutter in the pit of his stomach. This would be another excuse to spend a bit more time with Klaus.
Jesse wasn't sure how he felt about his friend, he knew that every time Klaus entered a room, Jesse would put his undivided attention on him. There was something about him that made it so he couldn't look away. Something about him... He contemplated it for a moment but his thoughts were taken away from him when Eden and Klaus arrived.
They made the trek to Klaus's house, talking about teachers and classes as well as the latest parties. In all honestly Jesse was looking forward to the party that Claudia was throwing. Maybe a few drinks would let him calm down a bit.
They trudged through the snow down the driveway and saw Claudia, she said a hello, mostly to Klaus but he assumed that he could say a greeting as well. "hullo." He said a bit dully. He brushed away a snowflake that had fallen on his nose and sniffed a little.
