Jesse leaned in close as Klaus spoke, telling him of a better idea. He sounded more clear than before and Jesse figured that it was the end of their dancing, Klaus had come to his senses. He felt a little disappointed but he knew it was a moment he would treasure. There were precious few moments with Klaus like this, at the time he had felt like it was ok to be the way he was. Now that it was gone he forced himself to keep the smile on his face, it was a real smile again when Klaus grabbed his hand. It was insictive but his own fingers closed over his friends.
"Alright." He said trusting his friend. They pushed through the crowd towards the stairs. He wondered where they were going and supposed that maybe they would go outside for a bit of fresh air, something to clear their heads and let their brains empty of all the pounding music. Klaus looked behind him to see if he was still there and Jesse found the action endearing.
The following events were the start of a change. I was never one for changes, I was content to have my life the way it was. I had accepted that. I would stay here in this miserable town, I would die alone and I would have a terrible job. It was just reality. But then there was Klaus, who somehow managed to bring color to this monotone world of mine. Even with his hand in mine I could feel that things were better. If only I had remembered that.
They reached the stairs and trudged up them towards the rooms, intrigued Jesse spoke up "What are we going to do up here? Need to get away from it for a bit?" He gestured to the mass of people downstairs jumping up and down and shouting.
