Devin smelled the tea immediately as the doctor and the nurse wondered toward them with a tray full. Her eyes traced over the cups and she smiled faintly. It would be nice to sit with him calmly and discuss whatever came to mind. She thought about how his riddles could make her smile no matter the mood she was in. She settled herself in the chair in front of him and her foot absentmindedly touched his. She was barefoot. Her fingers played against the table’s surface as she pondered over his question.
“Just cream please.” Devin couldn’t have too much sugar. It wasn’t good for her health and it made her pills react differently for her. Speaking of which, she knew she would have to take some more soon. She took a deep breath and watched Jefferson softly. Her eyes locked on his for a moment and her lips turned up into a smile.
“You must like sugar don’t you?” She then asked, now curious about his tastes and desires. She brushed her fingers against the table softly, her fingers tracing the wood gently. Her eyes settled on the doctors around her and then back on Jefferson.
