Jefferson blushed, realizing that he may have put a bit more sugar then was the norm. He hastily stopped and reached for the cream, pouring it into the tea until Devin gave him a sign to stop. He set the creamer down and reached for his cup, his eyes traveling across the table as he did so.
As he sipped, the Hatters eyes landed on Devin's hand. He though back to when he had held it and felt the desire once more, but he suddenly felt nervous. Sharing tea with her was a wonderful surprise, but it was also a part of himself that he rarely was able to share. Jefferson flicked his eyes from her hand up to hers, widening slightly as they made eye contact. He did not look away as he normally would have but merely stared into hers as he took another sip of tea.
Oh, what was he to do? He could feel himself growing feelings for this girl, a luxury he had not allowed himself to do ever. Wonderland was full of strange creatures and the only other true human was Alice, a twelve year old girl. On Earth, he had spent all his time here- and who would have ever thought he would find such a beautiful girl locked up in such a place? But, in reality, this put a damper on all his plans. He needed to leave this place, to escape and find his beautiful hat and get back to Wonderland. Oh, how he longed to simple force Devin to come with him, but he did not know how to take a passenger. The White Rabbit knew of how to travel between worlds with others, but he was dead now. Maybe if the Hatter could hunt down the rabbits family...
Suddenly, Jefferson realized he had been staring at Devin for some time. He blinked and looked away, a blush creeping across his cheeks once more.
"Do you like it?" He asked, indicating the tea as he tried to cover up the silence.
